Mike and his family have been members of the Fernie community since 1997, drawn to the area by the world-class mountains and recreational opportunities but retained by the sense of community and the balanced lifestyle. An environmentalist at heart and professional engineer by trade, Mike is an executive at a publicly-traded clean energy company in Calgary. Mike’s professional roles have included strategic leadership, responsible development, operations management and capital stewardship. Mike participated in the 2000 Olympics for Canada in the sport of rowing, but now spends his recreational time biking, skiing and enjoying the outdoors. With Fernie so connected to the mountains and surrounding wilderness, Mike is proud to be involved in the Elk Valley Regional Land Trust with the opportunity to make a significant difference to preserving the forest and recreational pursuits that are a fundamental part of the region.
