Jeff has been a visitor to the Elk Valley since he was a teenager. He and his family became members of the Fernie community 16 years ago. Skiing is usually the primary goal however Jeff and his family hike, bike, and experience more of the Valley every year. The natural environment has always been a meaningful part of Jeff’s life. He explored the First Nation World View while working on a master’s degree in Resource Management. Much of his long year career in “Land” was spent with landowners, First Nations, Government, and organizations trying to minimize impact on ecosystems and maximize benefits to society. The concept of Sustainability is innate to Jeff, and his extended family. Jeff is proud to be part of the Elk Valley Conservancy and sincerely shares its goal to protect and steward the Elk Valley.
